New Biodiversity Project Begins

Next week, a programme to protect native animals through feral cat and mongoose control, two introduced animal species that destroy native wildlife throughout the Caribbean will be launched on Jost Van Dyke.

Starting on February 20th, the Jost Van Dykes Preservation Society, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and E-Concerns (Tortola) will begin conducting surveys to gather data about the island´s lizard and bird populations.

This project is an excellent example of how the Preservation Society seeks out like-minded researchers and organizations and brings them to Jost van Dyke for education, research, and conservation.
